Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 5, 2026
This policy explains how Call Me! handles information when you use the Call Me! mobile application, web client, and related services (together, the “Service”).
Information we collect
Account and profile information
We collect your user-submitted username, first and last name, and profile picture if you add one. We also store your Apple account's user identifier and an encrypted Apple refresh token so we can authenticate the account and revoke its Apple authorization if the account is deleted. Apple may provide your name or relay email during sign-in; an email may be used to help generate an initial username but is not stored as a Call Me! profile field.
Communications and social information
We store messages, posts, friend relationships and requests, friend-invite records, blocked-user choices, availability requests, and any text you include in a safety report. Your messages are stored so you and the intended friend can retrieve the conversation later.
Availability and activity
We store recurring availability blocks, temporary activity signals, time zone, online status, and last-online time. These features let your accepted friends see when you may be available to talk.
Calls and service diagnostics
We process call participants, call identifiers, call state, timestamps, signaling data, delivery status, failure reasons, and limited connection diagnostics to establish and troubleshoot calls. Audio and video are encrypted in transit using WebRTC. They travel directly between participants when possible and may pass through Call Me!’s servers when required by the network. Such voice & video data is encrypted and not readable by CalL Me!. Call Me! does not record or store the audio or video content of calls. Session-description and network-candidate signaling is relayed while a call is established and is not intentionally stored as message content.
Device, network, and notification information
We collect Apple Push Notification service and VoIP push tokens, notification preferences, authentication and mutation identifiers, and basic network or server-log information such as IP address, request time, and error details. Infrastructure providers may also process this information to deliver and protect the Service.
Photos, camera, microphone, and notifications
Call Me! accesses only a photo you select for your profile. Camera and microphone access is used for video and audio calls. Notification permission is used for incoming calls, messages, requests, and activity signals. You control these permissions in iOS Settings.
How we collect and use information
We receive information from you when you create or edit an account, communicate, set availability, upload a picture, or submit a report. We receive service data automatically when your device connects or uses a feature. We use the information to:
- create and secure accounts and provide Sign in with Apple;
- deliver calls, messages, posts, friend features, and notifications;
- show your chosen profile and availability information to accepted friends;
- honor notification, blocking, reporting, and deletion choices;
- prevent spam, fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access;
- diagnose failures, maintain reliability, and improve the Service; and
- comply with law and enforce applicable policies.
What other users can see
Your username and name are used to help other people find or recognize you. Accepted friends can see your profile picture, availability, activity or online indicators, and posts, and can exchange messages and calls with you. People you block can no longer use those direct interactions. Reports are not shown to the reported user through the Service.
When information is shared
We share information only as needed to operate, protect, or comply with obligations for the Service:
- Other users: as described above and as directed by your use of a message, call, invitation, post, or profile feature.
- Service providers: application hosting, database and object storage, domain and network security, call-connectivity and relay infrastructure, authentication, push notifications, and app distribution.
- Legal and safety: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, investigate abuse, or defend rights and the Service.
- Business changes: if the Service is reorganized, acquired, or transferred, subject to this policy and applicable notice requirements.
We require service providers, through applicable agreements and platform terms, to use personal information only for the services they provide to Call Me! and to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable law. Call Me! does not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, show third-party advertising, or use third-party advertising trackers.
Retention and deletion
- Account, profile, message, post, relationship, availability, and call-operation records are generally kept while your account is active, unless a feature removes them earlier.
- Old profile-picture versions are deleted when replaced, though may still be saved on other users devices for longer. Invalid push tokens are removed when detected, and push tokens not refreshed for 90 days are removed.
- Account deletion removes the active account and its messages, posts, profile data, profile picture, availability, relationships, push tokens, and call records. For an Apple account, Call Me! also revokes or queues revocation of its Apple token.
- Safety reports may be retained after an account is deleted when reasonably needed to investigate abuse, protect people, comply with law, or resolve disputes. Account identifiers in those records are removed where the database relationship permits.
- Limited residual copies may remain temporarily in backups, provider caches, security logs, or a queued deletion/revocation process and are removed or overwritten according to operational and provider schedules.
Your choices and privacy rights
You can edit your name, username, password where applicable, profile picture, availability, posts, and notification categories in the Service. You can remove friends, block or unblock users, and report another user from that user’s profile. Device-level camera, microphone, photo, and notification permissions can be changed in iOS Settings.
You can permanently delete your account from Settings → Privacy & Safety → Delete Account in the iOS app. Username/password test accounts can also use the Delete Account control in the web client. Deletion cannot be undone.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a privacy request, email privacy@callmeapp.net. We may need to verify that you control the relevant account before fulfilling a request.
Security
Call Me! uses encrypted network transport, WebRTC media encryption, password hashing, encrypted storage for Apple refresh tokens, access controls, short-lived TURN credentials, and abuse controls. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
International processing
Call Me! and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Privacy protections and legal rights can differ between countries.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information, contact privacy@callmeapp.net so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Call Me! changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when required. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to privacy@callmeapp.net. For technical help or general feedback, contact support@callmeapp.net or visit the Call Me! Support page.
